Science behind new junior learning centre

St Catherine’s students had a new reason to be excited for the start of term, with the school unveiling a new building for its junior cohort.

Principal Michelle Carroll said the new building placed a particular focus on science, technology, engineering and maths subjects, and was home to a specially built lab, a language centre and a library.

“Watching the excitement on the faces of our Barbreck girls as they explored their new building for the first time, their enthusiasm, squeals and complete amazement at their new learning spaces, provided both teachers and staff members considerable joy,” Mrs Carroll said.

“The junior school is now ready to deliver a new learning experience enabling every student to reach their full potential.”

Families of prospective future students are invited to tour the new building at an open morning on August 16.

St Catherine’s School is at 17 Heyington Place, Toorak.
