St Catherine's - Drama Productions

Play your part! From Junior Year levels through to Year 12, all students have the opportunity to take to the stage.

Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in a School production.

Junior School offers small play performance opportunities across Year levels in alignment with Literature and Dramatisation with in the curriculum. Additionally, students can star in the Year 5 and 6 Musical and Years 7 and 8 girls have the opportunity to participate in their own large cast play, ensuring everyone has a role to play.

From Years 9 to 12 students have the opportunity to participate in a production every second year. The Years 9 to 10 play is available for St Catherine’s students only and the Years 11 to 12 play can be produced in conjunction with St Kevin’s College. All rehearsals are after School and on Sundays.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Our annual House Arts competition occurs during the last week of Term 4. This St Catherine’s tradition witnesses our Year 11 leaders devise and create a performance based on the yearly stimulus. They lead the rest of their House in acting, singing, dancing and designing their production in readiness for the final performance, which is always in front of a huge audience. This competition allows students to try their hand at many different stagecraft areas including;

For Drama students keen to gain specialist skills and instruction, private tuition is available in individual and group sessions, which follow the Trinity College Speech and Drama syllabus as well as our Drama Club.
