Our VET and Enhancement classes provide students with skill development and workplace training assisting them to explore and advance within their chosen career path.

Vocational Education and Training

St Catherine’s offers Senior School students the opportunity to take a Vocational Education and Training (VET) subject as part of their VCE program. The subjects combine general VCE studies with vocational training and hands-on workplace experience. There is much evidence to suggest high achieving academic students who undertake VET courses benefit both practically and, in their overall ATAR score.

Programs offered include Hospitality, Applied Fashion, Animal Studies, Equine Studies, Event Management to name a few.

On completion of these subjects, many students discover new vocational pathways for tertiary study.

School Based Traineeships

School Based Traineeships enable students to gain vocational qualifications and employment whilst completing their VCE.

This opportunity suits students who learn best by doing. A student is required to complete seven hours of work per week while also completing formal qualifications through a recognised Registered Training Office. Assignments are often based on work related tasks, linking directly with their employment.

University Enhancement Classes

St Catherine’s students have the opportunity to study subjects at University level. Students apply directly to their institution of choice. St Catherine’s supports the students throughout their application and interview process.

To be eligible for application, students are generally required to have successfully completed a Units 3&4 subject in Year 11 with a Study Score above 40. Extra fees apply.
