Choosing a School

Choosing a School

Education is an investment that lasts a lifetime. In researching and choosing the right school, parents and students should assess whether a school is suitable before making a final decision.

At St Catherine's School, we believe that schools are not ‘one size fits all'. It is crucial that the educational environment is a good fit with the student's personality, attitude and interests.

We suggest to all families who enquire about St Catherine's School, that they research broadly in order that they make the best selection for their daughter and their family. School tours are highly recommended, however we acknowledge that for families living overseas, coming to visit the School before enrolment is not always possible.

Our website provides valuable information for international families researching our School. We invite you to browse all of our information, which will give you a glimpse of St Catherine's life.

Some steps to take in researching schools (for families of students living overseas):

  • Develop a ‘checklist' of your expectations of the school in relation to the intellectual, spiritual, emotional and physical needs of your daughter and assess how each school can provide for her needs
  • Explore independent schools' websites
  • Request a copy of the school prospectus
  • Phone interview with the school Registrar
  • Prepare a list of questions for your agent (if applicable)
  • Talk to families of other International Students
  • Explore both Boarding and Homestay options.

We will do all we can to assist you with your enquiries. If you have particular questions after exploring our website, please phone our Registrar and she will be more than happy to speak with you.
