High Achievers
Encourage, Achieve, Celebrate!
The pursuit of excellence is a key element of our School's vision. We enjoy a reputation for superior academic results and, though we are a smaller school, our girls consistently outshine other schools in the co-curricular arena; be it debating, AFL, environmental initiatives or netball.
For example, St Catherine's placed second in the Schoolgirls Eight at this year's Australian Rowing Championships. Our First Eight sailed through to the semis in their first race, and placed second in the semi-final. The team then triumphed in the final, only placing behind PLC Sydney, and successfully defeating last year's title-holders, Pymble Ladies' College and Methodist Ladies' College.
The girls were suitably elated and especially excited to see all of their fellow Victorian schoolgirl teams leap from their boats to swim out and congratulate them on their fantastic race, demonstrating impressive sportsmanship! Our students said they were thrilled to be the only Victorian school on the podium, and to have the rare opportunity to row the 2000 Sydney Olympics course.
