Congratulations to all the students involved in the St Catherine’s Interschools team, your determination and fierce competitiveness saw great results on the mountain. This team was led incredibly well by Celia Cody (Year 12) and her senior group who were always on hand to support and cheer on their junior teammates.

A big thank you must go to Mr Tom Crebbin and Miss Skye Stansfield who led the team at the nationals. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank the Snowsports Auxiliary, led by Tamsin Greig, and all the parents who supported the Snowsports program across the championships. Without your support and care, our students would not be able to participate.

Well done St Catherine’s!

Narrow Nationals Win for St Catherine’s Junior School

Well done to the Barbreck students and families who participated in the 2019 Australian Interschools Snowsports Championships at Mount Buller.

With good snow conditions, our St Catherine’s students produced some outstanding performances, which ultimately contributed towards St Catherine’s narrow win in the championship. St Catherine’s performed well to turn around an Interschools loss to Lauriston to take out the nationals competition.

Final Standings:

Place School Points
1st St Catherine’s School 76
 2nd Lauriston 75
3rd Melbourne Girls’ Grammar School 73
 4th Wenona 67

St Catherine’s team success was a little bit of a surprise this year but showed the team spirit that exists amongst the Snowsports community.

St Catherine’s Junior School students were awarded winners of the 2019 Interschools Snowsports Championships.

There were many individual and team successes. In Division 4, the girls stamped their mark in the Cross Country Classic Race with a solid 2nd place. Eliza McCurdy (Year 6) filled in for the A team and recorded a 15th place individual performance in the race to secure silver for the team. Our Division 4 Alpine and Skier X team also secured gold, with Snowsports Captain, Chamonix Stafford (Year 6), finishing 1st individually in the Skier X and 2nd in the Alpine.
