Australian Henley Regatta

St Catherine’s School Rowing Crews competed at the Australian Henley Regatta on Saturday 23 February. Australian Henley is a different format to any other regatta, with a time trial seeding school crews and one-on-one knock-out racing following for the top four placed crews in the Time Trial. All other crews proceed to petite finals.

Our Senior 8s clean swept their divisions and were victorious in the Schoolgirl Div 1 8+ (the Fearless Girl) as well as the Schoolgirl Div 2 8+ (the St Catherine’s 120). This is the third year running St Catherine’s School rowers have achieved this feat. Students also went on to win the U21 Division (Fearless Girl). This is the fourth year running we have won the Senior 8s divisions at the Henley Regatta. A special mention goes to the St Catherine’s 120, who competed valiantly in U21, being defeated by the Loreto 1st 8+ after winning their Schoolgirl Div 2 Final by a massive 14 seconds over Genazzano.

Our 8s now progress on to the Victorian State Championship Regatta in Nagambie this weekend. The countdown to Head of the Schoolgirls is now on.

Go St Cath’s!
