The beginning of Year 7 is always a mixture of emotions – a little bit of nerves coupled with a lot of excitement. This year was no different with lots of energetic chatter as the girls found their new lockers, greeted friends old and new and bid their parents farewell for their very first day.

Undoubtedly, this year will be a change from primary school and will provide opportunities for personal growth, rigorous academic endeavour and developing and strengthening relationships. Each Year 7 student will now have a variety of subject teachers and this in itself is an immense change from having the one Year 6 teacher. Having a variety of subject teachers also means new and varied class groupings that will further allow for different relationships to be fostered. Many students have already expressed a keen interest in the plethora of co-curricular activities on offer and this enthusiasm to partake of opportunities within the St Catherine’s School community is already fast becoming one of the great qualities for which this Year Level is to be known. The Year 7 team is excited to work with the girls this year and we wish them a wonderful year.
