This week, the Year 7 cohort embarked upon their final term of the year. It is difficult to fathom how quickly this year has passed, as this time 12 months ago would have been the time when most of the students attended the transition interviews and were beginning to make the final preparations for Year 6 graduations and for secondary school. While filled with much pride and a reluctance to part with this year level, it is my undeniable hope that the girls make the most of their final term of Year 7 and begin to ready themselves to commence the next segment of their secondary School journey.

Term 4 indeed is a fulfilling term for the Year 7 students. It is with much anticipation that the Year 7 and 8 play Tales from the Arabian Nights will be performed, both by audience members and the cast. Those involved have been diligently attending rehearsals for what promises to be a colourful and entertaining performance.

The excitement of a stage production is quickly followed by the Year 7 Camp Jungai. The students will be on camp for four nights and five days – possibly their longest time away from home yet. The Camp will provide girls with the opportunity to challenge themselves as well as take responsibility for any aspects of their physical wellbeing whilst working together as a group. Camp provides an invaluable learning experience unlike that which is offered in the classroom and I have every confidence that the students will continue to meet these challenges with gusto and hardiness, much as they have done throughout this year.

This term will quickly culminate to preparing for the House Arts. This creative and rewarding initiative will be the first House Arts for the year level and one that will surely will be unforgettable. It is incredible to witness the cohesion and fellowship of the entire House in this student-led artistic endeavour and will no doubt be a highlight for the Year 7 students in their first year of secondary school.

I heartily wish the students all the best for Term 4.
