House Aerobics

Congratulations Langley Templeton who took out the win in the 2017 House Aerobics Final. In a keenly contested competition where different Houses made their charge for victory, it was Langley Templeton’s timing that got them over the line to round off a dominant year.

Final placings were:

  1. Langley Templeton
  2. Davis and Beaulieu Blair
  3. Holmes Kilbride
2017 Year 6 Irongirl

Congratulations to Sienna Darcy (Year 6) who took out the 2017 Year 6 Irongirl just ahead of Julia Kent and Milla Naylor.

After a particularly fast first run, it was Sienna who was quickly into the pool ahead of Matisse Stafford. The super swimmers soon made up ground and it was ‘super fish’ Chloe Nevins, who exited the pool first. Coco Kudelka also put her swimming skills on display to be right in contention. Close on their heels were reliable performers Julia Kent and Milla Naylor.

The second run was difficult for all and it was the fast runners who shone through.

Well done to all Year 6 students who found something special and can now call themselves Irongirls.

The top 10 Year 6 students:

  1. Sienna Darcy
  2. Julia Kent
  3. Milla Naylor
  4. Ava Colosimo
  5. Brydie Read
  6. Emma Gregory
  7. Coco Kudelka
  8. Lily Maisano
  9. Chloe Nevins
  10. Zoe Hall
Bike Education

On Wednesday 1 November the Year 6 girls took part in their final Bike Ed excursion to Kevin Bartlett Reserve. All Year 6 rode to the venue where they displayed their riding skills, gear changing and hill climbing whilst exploring the bike paths and river trails.

It was satisfying to see students who were initially nervous about riding improve their skills and conquer the legendary Heyington Hill.

House Athletics

On Thursday 2 November Langley Templeton continued on their winning way with a victory in the House athletics held at Kooyong Park. This year saw the introduction of Tunnel Ball and a Straight Relay which were allocated double points.

Along with the relays, Barbreck students enjoyed the grass track of Malvern Little Athletics Club which provided a fantastic surface for the sprint events and in particular hurdles.

Final placings were:

1st Langley Templeton 488 points
2nd Holmes Kilbride 482 points
3rd Davis 461 points
4th Beaulieu Blair 347 points
