Our annual House Snowsports was held over the weekend, with Barbreck students being able to experience a great opportunity to train and race in a friendly competition.

All students who took part in the event scored points for their House and simultaneously qualified for the Interschools Snowsports championship (if they choose to participate).

Final Results:

  1. Beaulieu Blair
  2. Langley Templeton
  3. Holmes Kilbride
  4. Davis.

The results are very much determined by the numbers of participants each House can rally together to compete at Mt Buller. Therefore, if other Houses would like the opportunity to take on winners, Beaulieu Blair, in 2018, it may be time to start rallying more team members now for next year!

Our students love the opportunity to ski with their friends and it is quite apparent that our parents also thoroughly enjoyed the House Snowsports weekend.

Therefore, if you are thinking of having an extended weekend at the snow next year, then make it the House Weekend 2018!

Well done to all the girls who participated and our winning House, Beaulieu Blair! A truly outstanding effort.

CA Tritons Short Course Meet

Congratulations to all our students who competed in the CA Tritons Short Course Meet held on Saturday 22 July at MSAC.

The event saw Chloe Nevins (Year 6) qualify for her first Victorian Age State Championships in the 11/Under Girls 50m and 100m Freestyle. Qualifying for a State level swimming competition is a big deal, and Chloe’s State timed are well deserved. Chloe has worked very hard this year and has been consistent in her process. She also manages to have fun every time she is in the pool!

Our team were a confident group, some of which tried their hand in some events for the first time. We practice all types of swimming and racing at training, however, heading off to MSAC to race a 100m or 200m event for the first time is a big deal!

Well done to first time racers (in that event): Chloe Barber (Year 4) 100IM | Portia Gowrie ( Year 4) 100m Free and 100m Fly | Zara Krause (Year 6) 100m Free and 100m Back | Chloe Nevins (Year 6) 100m Breast and 100m Free.

Not only did the girls do a great job racing in their event for the first time, but they also clocked some great times. This means, next time they enter that event, they will be surrounded by swimmers that match them in speed and ability. Congratulations again, girls!
