Sport Scoreboard

Welcome back to sport at St Catherine’s in 2017. It’s been an extremely active start to the year with our Rowers kicking things off with successful Rowing camps at both Nagambie Lakes and also here on the Yarra. Thanks to Mr Dave Fraumano (Head of Rowing) and his crew of coaches for getting the girls on track for what should be an exciting season ahead.

Down in the pool our squad swimmers hit the water, beginning to build their base after the Christmas break. Thanks to Mr Mark Cooper (Head Swim Coach) and his team for their hard work in the pool.

This year I am excited to be stepping into the Head of Sport role and I am equally as excited to be welcoming Mr Nick Racina to the role of Assistant Head of Sport. Mr Racina has a wealth of school sporting experience joining us from MLC. In 2017, he shall be heading up our GSV weekly sporting program as we look to further develop our team sport programs at St Catherine’s.

The GSV weekly sports program will see a slight change in structure and development this year. These changes include:

* A merge of Intermediate and Senior GSV weekly sport training. This shall take place on a Wednesday morning.

* The Introduction of a specialised, skill development training session for key GSV weekly sports. This is a non-compulsory training session that shall take place on Monday mornings. This Term our development session will be focusing on Tennis.

lucy-gray-sailingA big congratulations to Lucy Gray, who over the school holidays competed in the National Sailing Championships in Adelaide.

Lucy competed extremely well in her boat class and qualified to compete in the World Championships to be held in Perth later this year.

We wish Lucy all the best in her hard training and preparation for this competition.
