Opportunities for Students

One of the many impressive features of St Catherine’s is the exceptionally high level of participation of our girls in a full range of curriculum and co-curricular activities. This is a foundation strength of the School and a vital part of each individual’s growth and development. Art, Music, Sport and other pursuits are crucial at every stage of education from pre-school to Year 12.

Our girls relish the wide range of co-curricular opportunities available to them; be they in Sport, Music, Debating, Public Speaking, Drama, Dance, overseas study trips, community based programs and international exchanges. We are particularly interested in enabling our students to aspire and ‘aim high’ in all they do. Many of our ‘expanding opportunities’ programs are built on this aspirational aim which gives the individual a clear goal and a chance to grow through various offerings including ‘Beyond Boundaries’ outdoor education, the St Catherine’s Leadership Diploma and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

St Catherine’s School offers every girl a balanced academic and co-curricular program within a sound moral and ethical environment, giving them every opportunity to achieve their own excellence of endeavour.

University of Melbourne Mentor Program

Lyn Hsieh and Lexie Fish have been selected to participate in the 2006 University of Melbourne Mentor Program .  This academic mentorship is only for very highly able students and both candidates have shown great initiative with their applications to be selected.  Our girls will have the unique opportunity to undertake research at a university level.  Individually mentored by a PhD student in their chosen field Lyn and Lexie will embark on a challenging, inspiring and rewarding project.  They will be reporting on their experiences in November.
