Debating & Public Speaking
A vibrant Debating and Public Speaking program is conducted.
House Public Speaking and Debating begins in
the Junior School with competitions running through the Senior
School. Interschool Debating for students from Year 7 to Year
12 is organised through the Debating Association of Victoria
(DAV).
The senior DAV teams competes in the Hawthorn Region and the debating rounds are held at Scotch College in Terms 1 - 3. The junior DAV debating competition is held in Term 4.
Interested students participate in a wide variety
of community public speaking events throughout the School
year.
We regularly participate in the 'Lions Youth of the year Quest', the 'Legacy Junior Public Speaking Award', the 'Rotary Ainger Public Speaking Award' and the 'Plain English Speaking Award'.
