Thank you for visiting St Catherine's School website. I hope you will gain an insight into the depth and quality of the strong education program that we offer.
St Catherine's School is a non denominational School, well known and highly regarded as a first choice school for girls from kindergarten to Year 12. The three main areas of the School - the Early Learning Centre, the Junior School and the Senior School are located on the same campus just fifteen minutes from Melbourne's Central Business District.
One of the School's many strengths is the diversity of its student community, which is enhanced by a strong day and boarding environment, attracting students from local Melbourne, rural Australia and from around the globe.
At St Catherine's School we recognise the importance of developing the whole child. We know and value each student as unique and special with many and varied skills, which our highly competent and professional staff aim to develop to the full.
Our teachers at each level, pre-school, primary and secondary, strive to inspire their students and always seek to be inventive, creative and resourceful pedagogues.
At St Catherine's School our teachers understand that education today must be focused upon deep learning and knowledge retention achieved through practical application of learning theory. The Reggio Emilia program of the Early Learning Centre sits well with the whole school's approach to education. The Primary Years Program in the Junior School is designed to foster the development of the whole child. Through the Thinking Curriculum, students across the school are engaged in enquiry based learning initiatives, designed to augment the firm foundation of core skills and key knowledge that is provided through our core curriculum.
While the School's main objective is to equip students academically to face the future, we also support students through our broad range of co-curricular, leadership and values programs, developing each girl's skills set so that she can meet the expectations of the modern world.
If our staff are the School's key strength, our students are a major source of pride and delight to us.
